Tohoku Collection Fashion Show and Swag Bag

Regular folk to the left, VIPs to the right.

Whoops, no post for 10 days! I have a friend staying with me at the moment and it feels so rude to just sit in front of a computer all evening. Last night we had a feast care of The Meat Guy Japan and it was soooooo good. I highly recommend the mixed kebab set of exotic meat. Well if you're not Australian they're exotic anyway!

Today's post was supposed to be a review of the first annual Tohoku Collection fashion show. However since the clothes were boring and I couldn't take any good pictures, that's not gonna happen. You may remember I attended the event as a VIP thanks to my good friend Cintya. We actually had a great day but the event itself was...hmm. It wasn't really bad but definitely not as enjoyable as the FREE Sendai Collection.  Considering our tickets were worth 5000yen, I would have been disappointed if I had paid.

Nails Unique booth, offering free nail art on one finger only.

This was the only cool thing happening, the chance to get our nails done. Well...the chance to get ONE nail done actually. They had a raffle running where you could win a full set for free or a gift box of some nail varnish. Unfortunately, both of us got the booby prize, a nail file. Oh well.

A gorgeous selection of colours.

Limited edition Disney Collection.

The show starts with MoriSanChu...and an ex-soccer player/male model.

And then I was told to stop taking pictures.

I chose a simple nail art design because it was kind of annoying just having it on one finger.

Swag bag sponsored by Sendai PARCO.

Gyaru brand Ank Rouge promotion.

PARCO was running a "My Sweet Wedding" promotion.

Popular model/talento Becky collaborated with lady-like brand Vis to produce a collection of Autumn/Winter wear that looks great in pictures, but very cheap in real life.

I loved the two styles of coats but I could never skimp on quality when it comes to a winter coat.

S-PAL shopping centre also had clothes in the fashion show, but they weren't half as stylish.

Now THIS was a good freebie. The chance to try some Laudree make-up!

Was it good? Was it bad? Wait for my review to find out!

A nail file and promo voucher for Nails Unique.

Not to sound greedy but I expected a little more swag in my swag bag...

...not just pages upon pages of advertisements.

At least I got a DVD of Revenge in Japanese. Is it any good? I haven't seen it yet.

Super cute Kyary Pamyu Pamyu X Mameshiba stickers.

Good Luck 11 sponsored a free ring that was so ugly I threw it out! But at least we got Bathology samples.

Then the ads got ridiculous with full-on booklets for cell phones.

It wasn't much of a swag bag but anything is better than nothing. Certainly the Laudree samples and the Kyary stickers were good to get. The ring would have been nice too if it hadn't been so ugly! Also we got to see a live show by Anna Tsuchiya. Although I'm not a fan and didn't know any of her songs, she was amazing. I'd love to see her again.

As for Tohoku Collection, unless they improve their brands and guest models I probably wont go back next year. Although I'd be tempted by another free ticket!

  1. At least now you know not to buy tickets for next year's show! And yeah, the swag bag is awful, I would have thought that they would tuck more usable things in since a ticket costs 5,000yen o.O

    1. I guess the swag bag would have been ok if it was a cheaper ticket, but it seems like VIP shoulc have gotten more! Oh well, I didn't pay anything at all so I shouldn't complain!

  2. I can`t believe they wouldn't let you take pictures...people were snapping away at Kansai Collection. Nails Unique was doing gels for the whole hand, too, not just one nail ^^;;

My swag bag wasn't a whole lot better than yours, sadly, though there was more stuff you could get if you went up to individual booths. I'm pretty jealous of your Kyary stickers though, and the fact that you got to see Anna! I don't know a whole lot of her music but I love the movies she's been in.

    1. Kansai sounds soooo much better! I can't believe the stupid camera rule. I can understand that concerts want to see footage and image rights but not a brand new fashion show! You'd think they'd be grateful for all the publicity they could get!

  3. The swag bag is a little dissappointing, but I do love those Kyary stickers! XD

    1. I doubt I'll be lucky again next year and get another freebie, but at least I wont be tempted to waste money!
