October 2012 Japanese GlossyBox
Spring is finally upon us and 98% of Japan has been struck down with horrific hay fever, as usual. Unfortunately, I have been too. Hay fever in Japan is a bit unusual so I'll save it for a "survival guide" type post, but needless to say, it's hell. I seem to be over the worst though, so it's time to start gearing up for hanami (cherry blossom viewing) parties i.e. legitimized public tipsiness.
October's GlossyBox was one of the better ones that I've received. I've gotten good use so far out of 4 of the 5 items, which is a higher ratio than normal.
GlossyBox Homme: probably not for the Irish men in your life
GlossyBox Homme (the male edition) isn't available on a monthly subscription but you can usually order one off the main GlossyBox website. I don't think the contents change that often though. They were being promoted as the perfect Christmas gift for "precious person" in your life. It's actually not a bad idea because all Japanese men that I know use some kind of cosmetics and most use quite a few. A typical Japanese guy in his mid twenties uses products to wash and style his hair, moisturise hands and face, facial hair grooming items and cologne. At the very least. After all, this is the country with a legitimate make up line for men.
November theme and contents
The theme of the November box was to prepare your skin and hair for the upcoming Winter party season. For that reason they (ALLEGEDLY) included new high-end brands. These included John Masters Organics, Lush and Clarins. Of course not all the boxes contained all the nice items. And how many did I get? Zero! Zilch! Nada! Although I think the hair oil counts as my high-end product and I really enjoyed using it I still wish I had gotten Lush.
More advertising for the Homme box
Here's what I got:
- daily delight lip balm
- Embryolisse moisture cream
- KAOTSUBO COSMETIC FACE & BODY ESSENCE SHEET SET
- LES PARFUMS DE ROSINE PARIS Un Zest de Rose Eau de Parfum
- Moroccan Oil Treatment 25ml
They products laid out
I've just realised that this is the most recent box that I've edited the pictures for, which means I have my work cut out for me this weekend. Also, did you notice the presence of the word EMBRYO in the name of the moisturiser? That's the only product that I haven't used yet. You don't think it really contains...that, do you? Time to start the research, all advice appreciated!

Cherry blossoms are my absolute favourite and I bet they're unreal in Japan. Ironically enough I sprayed Japanese cherry blosson perfume on me today from the Body shop. Love it x

Oh great! I hope you liked the scent! Actually I find that the real blossoms have no scent. But it's everywhere in terms of flavours!
DeleteEmbryolisse is a wonderful moisturizing cream which doubles as makeup base, it`s used by professional makeup artists and I love it too! :D
